2017 Here We Come!
Lake City Future First is proud of our accomplishments and the leaps forward in 2016. It has been an honor and a privilege to be in the position of Director for just over a year now. We believe we have seen great benefit in having increased our capacity.
Earlier this year we listened as Mayor Murray identified Lake City as the pilot neighborhood to work with the newly organized Office of Community Planning and Development. While Lake City continues to work with the City to develop and understand this new model, we know that the City has recognized our community as one that needs support. Lake City is poised for a great deal of growth and now is the time to get involved.
Following is a short list of projects that we are particularly proud of for 2016:
- With neighborhood partners the Children’s Home Society of Washington and the Lake City Neighborhood Alliance we applied for and received a $100K planning grant. The effort has been branded “Imagine Lake City Together”.

What: Clean Up for an Hour (1 Hour!)
How: We have bags, grabbers, gloves and buckets.
Why: Good for You and Good for Lake City
Remember when we wear our green ‘Something is happening in Lake City’ t shirts(I will have a few extra to hand out on Sunday) all are welcome to get a super deal at Hellbent, a $1 pint of beer after clean up.
The free Summer Concert Series continues. Wednesday, July 13 at 5:30 PM at the Lake City Mini-Park come see Choroloco!

The Lake City Summer Concert Series features Halau Hula O Napualani on June 29, 2016 at 5:30 PM at the Lake City Mini-Park. The Mini-Park is located at 12359 Lake City Way, Seattle, Washington.
Stop by for this free open air concert and Hawaiian dance.
The summer of art in Lake City Washington!
On Thursday, June 23 at noon artist Melissa Koch unveiled her carved tapestry called “Water”. “Water” is a new temporary public art installation on the interior side of the bank arch in the Lake City Mini-Park located at 12359 Lake City Way NE in Seattle, Washington. It will be on display throughout the summer.
