Lake City Future First is looking forward to working with the Community on a neighborhood festival that is reflective of our changing and culturally rich community.

This year, Saturday was our big day for kids events and thanks to Seattle Gymnastics Academy for having an obstacle course in Albert Davis, and to all the wonderful non profits who provided crafts including Hunger Intervention, North Helpline, The LC Library, Literacy Source, the Lake City Farmer’s Market and Missy’s Rescue. Thanks also to our kid’s area performers: Lluvia Chavez, Insight Martial Arts. Hulau Hula Napaulau, and Adria the Juggler. It was tough to be tucked back up behind the main action but the Lake City Young Leaders program helped to guide people our way with balloon animals, henna and face painting.

We can’t wait for the return of live music, supporting local businesses and bringing in local artisans to share their craft.

A community festival needs both your input and your help. Volunteerism is essential to putting on a great festival.

We will be going over our surveys that we conducted at the event on what is important to attendants for a Lake City festival and continuing the outreach as we work with our neighbors and businesses to create a celebration that we all can enjoy.
