The project for a 6-story, 256 unit apartment building with a childcare center on the bottom floor and parking for 68 vehicles is moving forward. At this time it looks like public comment period ends today (May 6, 2020). You can still provide comments through PRC@seattle.gov
One element we offer for strong consideration is that the location has served as a mid block passage for people living on 33rd avenue and providing a more pedestrian friendly component to the central business district for many years. The block is particularly long and it may be better to re-imagine the passage in the development rather than eliminating it. While this community thoroughfare has been problematic at times, issues may be mitigated through considered design and still serves a large population of residents on 33rd accessing public transportation, services and businesses on LCW.
