June Sunday Clean Up Re-Cap

Another Successful Sunday Clean Up

Youth from Hazel Wolf K-8 and Olympic Hills Elementary

Build Lake City Together (BLCT) June 23rd clean up once again brought out over 30 neighbors for the effort. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Cedar Park Elementary PTA and Meghan McCormick for providing water and cookies for volunteers. We also want to thank Muriel Lawty for all of her work in the Little Brook Neighborhood and her invitation to conduct the clean up in the area around 137th and 32nd NE. Muriel is working to engage her neighbors for a regularly scheduled clean up concentrating on Little Brook. Efforts like Muriel’s are the ultimate goal of the BLCT clean and safe group to have individuals within pocket neighborhoods organize and run these on a regular basis. We collected about 25 bags of trash and five used needles. The next effort is July 21st and we would love to keep the momentum going. Please check back here or our Enjoylakeicty.org Facebook page for location and details one week prior to the clean up.
