Homeless In Lake City

A Community Conversation

 Lake City Future First will host a free conversation on Wednesday, May 24th about the state of homelessness in Lake City. The Community Conversation will be held from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Lake City Community Center, 12531 28th AVE NE, Seattle.

Join us for food from Korochka Tavern, information from local agencies servicing the ­­homeless and moderated panel discussion and audience Q&A.

 

The panel, moderated by Pam Russell, Pastor, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, includes: Chuck BrillResident McDermott Place; Lieutenant Kevin Grossman, Seattle Police, North Precinct Operations; Melanie Neufeld, Pastor at Seattle Mennonite Church; George ScarolaCity of Seattle, Director of Homelessness; and Dave Warner, Peer Support Specialist, Valley Cities Behavioral Health.

The panel will discuss how their agencies and organizations are working locally to assist the homeless, where they see improvements, where there are gaps in services, where individuals, businesses and agencies can support efforts, and we will hear first-hand from a formerly homeless individual about his experience in Lake City. Community members are encouraged to attend and ask questions of our panel.
