North Helpline and the Lake City Young Leaders will be holding a dedication celebration on June 6th at 6 pm for the mural, “Unity”. The young artists will speak about their design and share their experiences working in the food bank. Light refreshments will be served and tours of the food bank will also be available! The mural was painted by the Lake City Young Leaders to brighten up where our neighbors wait to enter the food bank.
The teens designed the mural to show the strength of diversity. The youth painted a house that has the word ‘home’ in twenty-four languages to show the importance of being inclusive and how everyone should feel at home in our community. The group was led by Mark Mendez and Andrew Miller (MANTISART). Thank you to Seattle Parks and Recreation, Lake City Community Center, and the North Seattle Chamber of Commerce for their support.
