Thank you to all who were able to attend the April 29th event at the Lake City Community Center. The food provided by Lake City’s own Manila Manila and the entertainment by members of the Ocheami Dance Company were wonderful additions to a wealth of information about current happenings in our neighborhood. We also were lucky to have our Public Outreach Engagement Liaisons (POEL’s) join us to begin their work to help with strengthening connections in our community.
Information tables included Our Lake City Future First Strategic Plan, Fred Meyer Garden Idea Lab, the HUB Emergency Preparedness, Lake City Greenways, LCNA Outreach on a new full service community center, Senior Services Discussions, the 125th Street Mini Park Project, local business owners, the Lake City Farmers Market, a kids area provide by the North Seattle Family Resource Center, Lamb of God volunteers/ “Coffee Talk” outreach and of course the Department of Planning and Development’s presentation of the hard work that the Urban Design Framework group guided by Katie Sheehy with DPD has achieved over the past year.
Additional information on the Urban Design Framework and the draft can be viewed here: http://www.seattle.gov/dpd/cityplanning/completeprojectslist/lakecity/whatwhy/default.htm
