Habitat for Humanity’s International Women Build Week, March 8-12, and created in partnership with Lowe’s, highlights the global need for women’s access to safe and affordable housing. Despite the constraints caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Habitat and Lowe’s remain committed to raising awareness for the need for safe and affordable housing among women.
Join us in celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8th at 12:00 pm noon with an inspiring virtual home tour of one of our Lake City townhomes! They are nearing completion, and you’re invited to get a peek inside to learn more about the homes, the people who built them, and the families who will be calling them home.
In Washington, 1 in 7 households pay half or more of their income on their home. Women are disproportionality affected by this severe cost-burden and make up a larger share of U.S. households living in poverty. At Habitat for Humanity we know that safe, affordable housing means that individuals and families can thrive. However, women face challenges that make it more difficult to access this basic need. Join in and listen as we talk about how Habitat has partnered with women and helps to empower them to take the path of home ownership.
Don’t miss this engaging discussion and celebration of the women of Habitat! Mark your calendars for Monday, March 8th at noon, and register for free by emailing: Alex.Wyatt@Habitatskc.org to receive your link to the Zoom Webinar.
