Mark Mendez offered this brief statement to the LCNA membership – “
“I’m sad to tell you all that Glenn Hubbard, Recreation Leader at the Meadowbrook/Lake City Teen Center, passed last Wednesday morning of an apparent heart attack. Glenn joined Seattle Parks and Recreation on a permanent basis in June 1994. Glenn became a Laborer in 1996 and began working as a Recreation Leader in 2006.
Glenn worked at Meadowbrook/Lake City Teen Life Center where he had an impact on countless youth. Staff would often joke that “Glenn knew everyone in the city” and so many people, both adults and teens, would stop him just to chat or get life advice. Glenn was recognized for his approach to working with at-risk teens and young adults, and he flourished knowing that he was making a difference in people’s lives.
Glenn was a very supportive and positive person, he always motivated the youth in Lake City to be their best selfs and he helped me get the Lake City Youth programs off the ground this summer. Words can’t describe his impact or what his loss will mean; we will forever hold him dearly in our hearts.”
