Hello, Lake City neighbors!

As previously announced, Lake City Greenways is hosting a meeting to collect ideas for Your Voice, Your Choice: Parks and Streets.
  • Your Voice, Your Choice is a participatory budgeting program that asks Seattle communities to nominate and vote on $2 million worth of street and park improvements, about $285,000 for each of the seven City Council districts. We are in District 5.
  • Individual projects cannot exceed a cost of $90,000 (see attached project examples, project eligibility, and cost estimates).
  • After ideas are collected throughout February–at gatherings and meetings anyone can organize–projects will be evaluated in March by each district’s Project Development Team, made up of volunteers.
  • In April, each Project Development Team will advance 10 or 12 projects to SDOT and Parks for cost and feasibility reviews.
  • In June, community members can vote on their favorite projects in their Council district–voting will happen in-person and online. Lake City Greenways will host a vote site and will distribute online voting information as well.
Lake City Greenways will host an idea-collection event at the Lake City library on Saturday, February 18, 12:30-2:00. If you cannot join us, you can still submit your own idea here.

Can you help? We need volunteers (a) for the February 18 meeting and (b)  to serve on the District 5 Project Development Team (Four 2-hour meetings in March, or less time if you share duty with a friend).
