Cedar Park Clean Up

July 25th Neighbors Came Together

Twelve neighbors showed up and cleaned for an hour on the steep green urban separator behind Walgreen’s at NE 145th ST and 35th Ave.NE in the neighborhood of Cedar Park.

This group, THE NORTH CEDAR PARK GOOD NEIGHBOR ASSOCIATION, was already well established in Cedar Park and have been keeping the area north of NE 135th St clean for several years. The impact of their cleaning efforts may well be demonstrated in having the lowest crime rate in all of Lake City even though they are situated next to the highest crime area.

Participants were eager to talk about ways to clean up and maintain this green space that buffers traffic noise and pollution coming from Lake City Way (LCW). The ideas of developing a small dog park and safe pathways to provide neighbors a safe walkway to access bus stops and businesses on LCW were also discussed.
