Annette (owner of Kaffeeklatsch in Lake City) talks with Mayor Durkan at the signing

On November 30th, LCFF Executive Director along with LCFF Board Member and Kaffeeklatsch owner, Annette Heide-Jessen, joined new Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan as she singed legislation to create Seattle’s first Small Business Advisory Council (SBAC). The signing took place at Elliott Bay Book Company in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, Mayor Durkan said that the new Council would help to ensure that small businesses have a role in informing policies and programs as well as access to resources. The council will provide input on impact of City decisions, make policy recommendations, and help increase access to tools and resources available to small businesses.

LCFF looks forward to working with the new Mayor and staff to ensure that issues and needs of our Lake City small businesses are being addressed.
