A message from Coyote North:
Hello everyone,
I wanted to share some bittersweet news about programming at Coyote North, of which you may already be aware. Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in getting this message out to you all!
Due to unforeseen staffing shortages and delayed effects of the pandemic, we will be temporarily closing Coyote North from Summer 2023 – Fall 2024. This will be a year-long hibernation that will allow us to regroup, rejuvenate, and finally RETURN to Lake City in full force.
While I am saddened by this situation, I believe this decision will ultimately allow us to better serve our students, families, teaching artists, and communities. We have been operating on half a tank since 2020, and this has compromised the health of our staff and the breadth of our programming. The North end has welcomed us with open arms and so much support, and we hope to return the favor as soon as we are able – this time with a FULL tank.
WHAT’S NEXT?
We are still planning on running classes during spring break (calendar attached), with registration open now on our website. Please spread the word as we aim to fill our classrooms one last time in 2023!
There will also be a grand summer solstice celebration in June where we can gather as a community and share intentions for the next year. More details on that will be coming soon.
We are also currently hiring for three positions, based mainly in our Central District location, with more positions to open in the next year as we build out our staff structure and support. You can find more information on the attached flyer and on our website here.
Finally, while our programming may be on pause until next Fall, we wish for our building to remain active! If you or anyone you know could use our space, please get in touch with our Facilities Manager, Marijke, marijke@coyotecentral.org
As for me, my role will shift towards Communications, but I am always available to talk, plan, & dream all things North, so please STAY IN TOUCH!
Thank you all for being such amazing community partners, and I hope to see you again soon!
With any questions– feel free to reach out.
