“Vacation in Lake City” Film

Step VideoCome see the best film of the year, “Vacation in Lake City”, made by the STEP program’s Lake City teens. The short film will tackle the issue of a lack of resources in Lake City’s Community Center and parks. There will be a brief discussion about what improvements the neighborhood would like to see in the future. Free PIZZA and REFRESHMENTS will be available! Everyone is welcome!

The teens from Lake City worked really hard on this video, come out and support them and help strengthen our community!

The Future of Lake City

LCFF has had the wonderful opportunity to work with Mark Mendez and his “Youth Leadership Program” out of the Meadowbrook Teen Life Center. LCFF has been able to provide a training course with Seattle Globalist for the group to learn about reporting for blogs and social media. We also are funding lunches for the youth to engage with five local small businesses and interview the owners. Be sure to stay on the look out for their reports back on their experiences in our Business Profile section. The group has also joined our Clean and Safe Committee leads, Annette and Annie, in Tuesday clean up efforts in Lake City. Pictured above is the group at Virgil Flaim along with one of our local police team. We are very excited also to have worked with a local business to secure a wall for the groups mural project. We really want to thank Mark and his group for their involvement as they truly are the future of Lake City.
