Build Lake City Together is Honored with Annual Award in the “Strong Communities” Category
It was truly an honor to receive a Denny Award last night (December 3rd) for the work that we began under Lake City Future First and that we have the honor to continue under Build Lake City Together. Working with incredible partners like Monica Sweet, Mark Mendez and Annette Heide-Jessen I have had the good fortune to conduct well over 50 events in our Lake City parks.
We had a wonderful group of Lake Cityzens join us for the ceremony and we really want to acknowledge all of the performers who have shared their artistry, the past board of LCFF, the steering committee for BLCT, all the volunteers who have given their time, all the youth who participate in Mark’s program and all those that came out to enjoy Lake City. A special shout out to Randy Wiger with Parks who has been a great supporter of our efforts.
I also want to acknowledge the Lake City Collective who are doing amazing work in Little Brook Park and throughout the neighborhood.
While our parks are challenging, BLCT maintains the philosophy that positive activation and bringing community together in public spaces is vital to our success as a neighborhood.
Lake City – Wooohoooo!
